HEY GUYS!
First things first, HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Hope everyone is having a swell fall, can we all agree that the 90 degree heat waves in LA are over? Over the past few months I have been doing a variety of things around the city- including tracking sessions, building compressors, and learning HTML on the fly! It’s easy to forget to share the accomplishments of my fellow creative people/collaborators, so I’m going to take this post to mention a few films I helped out with.
MOSTLY KOSHER, one of my favorite groups of crazy AND talented musicians won “Best Music Video” for the song “Crawdad Bulgar” at this year’s Glendale International Film Festival. We tracked and mixed the song at Kingsize Soundlabs in Eagle Rock! Later this week I’ll also be posting their music video for the song “Ain’t No Sunshine,” but in the meantime…below is a photo from the award show, and also the music video! (Watch it.) The creativity of this bunch never ceases to amaze me, and I always look forward to working with them!!:)
Another film I’m excited for is the movie “Operator.” Fellow Minnesotan Sage Lewis composed the music for the film, which has already taken numerous awards at different festivals across the country. Starring in the movie are some familiar faces including Mae Whitman(Arrested Development) and Martin Starr(Freaks and Geeks!) I recorded strings and piano for the movie at Kingsize Soundlabs, and can’t wait to watch it at the premiere this Thursday! Below you can check out the trailer.
That’s all I have for you now folks. Can’t wait to see what’s on the horizon for all the projects I’ve been working on, and will be updating this dang blog more often!
Peace and Love,
-E
